Immunization Program Updates
Meningococcal Update August 2026
Ontario is replacing the Men-C-C dose given at 12 months of age with Men-C-ACYW135. The first dose of Men-C-ACYW135 is offered to children beginning at 12 months of age, and the second dose is offered to adolescents through the Grade 7 school-based immunization program.
Children who already received Men-C-C at 12 months of age are not eligible for a catch-up program. Use up your remaining unexpired Men-C-C vaccine supply. The online vaccine portal and vaccine order form has been updated.

Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccines
Starting August 17, 2026, Ontario's publicly funded pneumococcal vaccine program for adults age 65 years of age and older will transition to the pneumococcal 21-valent conjugate vaccine (Pneu-C-21, Capvaxive). The Pneu-C-21 vaccine provides broader protection against invasive pneuomococcal disease (IPD) compared to the Pneu-C-20 vaccine.
Remaining Doses of Unexpired Pneu-C-20 (Prevnar 20) Vaccine: You may use unexpired Prevnar 20 for individuals aged 6 weeks to 64 years, who are at high risk of IPD.
